MICHAEL JAMES TUMBARE
Dr. Eng. M J Tumbare holds BSc (Eng) (Hons), MBA and PhD degrees. He is a Fellow of: the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (FZweIE), the Engineering Institute of Zambia (FEIZ), the Institute of Civil Engineers (FICE) (UK) and the Zimbabwe Academy of Sciences (FZAS). He is also an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb) (UK) and has been gazetted as an Engineer for Dams and Large Dams in Zimbabwe.
Dr. Eng. Tumbare is currently a Senior Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Zimbabwe after having spent 16 years as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Zambezi River Authority (ZRA), 11 years in the civil service and 5 years in the private sector. He is currently the President of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers, the Chairman of the Research Council of Zimbabwe and the Chairman of the St Marys (Manyame) Anglican Primary, Secondary and Mission Board of Governors.
Dr. Eng. Tumbare has expertise in Water Resources Infrastructure Development and Management; Hydrology and Hydraulic infrastructure Design; Formulation of Water Resources Development and Management Policies and Strategies; Water resources development and water resources infrastructure management; Dam design, dam infrastructure development and management; construction supervision; Infrastructure monitoring, maintenance and operation; Development of Management Policies and Best Practices in Institutional Management. He has published several books and numerous professional articles in the field of water resources development and management.
