Eng P Morris
Peter Morris, BSc(Eng), MSc, DIC, PrEng(Zim), MZweIE, CEng, MICE. Peter Morris is a self employed freelance consultant with 43 years of experience. He qualified in civil engineering at the University of Cape Town and received an MSc in Public Health Engineering at Imperial College in London. In the 1980’s and 1990’s he was on the ZIE Mashonaland Area Committee (which he chaired) and ZIE Council. He was also on the Membership Interview Panel. He has been on ZACE Council since 2002 and is the Immediate Past President. He is also the Zimbabwe Country Representative for the Institution of Civil Engineers. His main area of expertise is municipal water and sewerage and in recent years has been responsible for a lot of rehabilitation work. He did a lot of work for local authorities in particular Gweru but recent clients have been in the aid sector including UNICEF, the World Bank, the German aid organisation GIZ, Danish Aid and the British Department for International Development. Most of his projects have been in Zimbabwe but he has worked on projects in Botswana, Mozambique, Swaziland, Tanzania and Zambia. One of his interests is construction procurement and he chaired the Standards Association of Zimbabwe committee that prepared SAZS ISO 10845 Construction Procurement. He is married with two daughters and a son and dotes on all his family. His favourite work activity is designing water treatment works and his favourite recreational activities are reading, sailing, rock climbing and designing sun dials.
