INSPECTORATE AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER
Position Summary
The Engineering Council of Zimbabwe (ECZ) is a statutory body whose mandate is to regulate the registration and practice of engineering professionals in Zimbabwe. A position for Inspectorate and Compliance Manager, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer has arisen. The key function of this critical position is to ensure and enforce compliance of engineering professionals and engineering firms to the requirements for practicing as Professional Engineers, Technologists or Technicians and Engineering Firms in terms of the Engineering Council Act and the related Statutory Instruments.
The job entails:
· Enforcement and Monitoring Engineering Practitioners (individuals and firms) for compliance with the Act.
· Taking necessary steps to ensure that non-compliant practitioners are stopped from practicing and prosecuted.
· Developing and maintain compliance framework including processes for monitoring of compliance and putting in place inspections procedures manual in line with provisions of the Act.
· Undertake scheduled and adhoc compliance visits to project sites and operations.
· Advise Council of contemporary compliance issues and related penalties for non-compliance
· Stand in for the CEO in his / her absence and any other duties assigned from time to time.
Person Qualifications
· A degree in Engineering
· Registered and licensed Professional Engineer
· At least three (3) years working experience as a practicing Professional Engineer.
· A professional of unquestionable integrity, ethical and good moral standing.
